In safe mode, all user apps are supposed to be disabled that's the whole point , so you probably won't be able to do anything with your app then unless you have root access and install it as a system app. Are you sure it does not work if i make my application as a device admin app? What do you mean by a device admin app? AFAIK, there's really no such thing, there's just three different kinds of app: rooted apps, system apps, and normal user apps.

Device administration enabled applications developer. I believe not - but, not totally sure. If you want to check, you could put some log message in the BroadcastReceiver and check yourself.

Show 2 more comments. Active Oldest Votes. If that doesn't help try Firelord's solution android. It's not a device administrator I managed to check that , but I can't do anything with Google Play because all apps just hang when I ask them to do anything significant.

I really don't know enough to follow the answer you've linked, but will have a go if all else fails. Like everything other app, it just hangs when I ask anything of it. Bit drastic because you will lose data but doing a factory reset comes to mind — beeshyams. Although I'm half expecting to get "Factory Reset is not responding. Would you like to close it? I can't believe everything can go from completely fine to completely screwed in the space of one action.
