Vudu download error android

I am a relatively advanced Android user and don't really like having any more bloatware running than is necessary or required by all the "pieces of the pie". I have NOT rooted my phone. Is there possibly some item i turned off that may need to be running in the background to make this work? Something to do with connectivity, perhaps?
